Studio Hearts Ch.1

[[Naomi's Apartment]]

      Beep Beep Beep!! rang my alarm clock, i looked at the red numbers with one eye, 7:55 AM. I had to be at work at 9 which gave me an hour to get ready. I continued to lay there while the buzzer kept going. Staying up til 3 in the morning watching movie marathons was not a good idea for me. I pulled the covers over my head then uncovered myself again trying to motivate myself to finally get up. I sat up and turned the alarm off, and stood up to stretch an yawn. Since i work at Express which is a unisex clothing store i don't really wear a 'uniform'. i sort of wish i did because its so hard finding a cute outfit everyday for me, which is why i give myself an hour to get ready.

      After taking a shower and freshening up i finally assembled an outfit to wear for work. With 30 minutes left I picked up my keys and headed off in my little blue Camry.

[[Express Clothing Store]]

     I parked my car in my usual spot in the back and walked into the back door, i saw my co-worker Nicole at theregister, she picked up my favorite chocolate chip frappe  from starbucks, it became a usual thing we do every other week.

     "Ah, thanks girl," i said relived, "I really needed this this week,"

      "i bet, after i saw your Facebook status about watching movies all night i figured you needed a pick-me-up," she laughed.

     "haha, you know me so well," i laughed, "so what's the managers demand for today,"

"not much actually, Just some stuff to be re-stocked and a couple shelves to be organized,"

     "Seems fair enough," i said while taking a couple more sips of my frappe',"

     "Hows your lil music gig goin so far?"

     "Its, alright, i mean I'm not popular or anything...I'm still like a blank disk for real, only like 5 people actually herd my stuff,"

    Nicole smiled and placed a hand on my shoulder and told me that I have the potential to become more public with my music. Nicole is a wonderful person and always know when to bring a person's spirits up, but i think to realistically, i mean becoming a famous singer would be awesome but i don't mind just using it for a hobby. i don't even know anyone that has a recording studio so i dont put my hopes to high. 

    I gave a small smile, "Yeah, you're right, but i'm just going to take things slow."

   "Well good, just take ya time girly," she told me, "Well, i'm off to run cash register. See you round break,"

    I went off to organize the men's jeans section, which was really messy as usual. i just sighed when i saw the stand, men are so sloppy. I pulled out my iPod and plugged in my headphones, i usually like to listen to musicwhen i fold clothes. I hit the shuffle button and blocked out the world, and not only my favorite song comes on: 'For Your Entertainment' by Adam Lambert. So naturally i sing along as i continued to fold.

                As I’m singing, I didn’t realize I got a little carried away and got a little louder than usual because I actually bumped into this guy behind me. I quickly pulled my earplugs out and apologized, instantly feeling embarrassed.

                Oddly enough the guy didn’t laugh at me or call me a lame; he simple smiled and said it was ok. In fact he said he liked my singing.

                “That’s a pretty voice you have,” he said, “I couldn’t help but stand here and listen, so it’s really my fault for being in your way,” he smiled, he had a really cute smile and perfect teeth.

                I blushed while my heart skipped a beat, “O-Oh, thank you,”

                  “You also seem like the type of girl that’s into the music industry, at least by that wonderful voice you have,”

                I widen my eyes in shock, No one has complemented so highly about my singing in a serious manner, “Well I guess you can say that,” I laughed nervously.

                His Smile grew wider, “Well if you are, I’d like you to have this,” he reached into his pocket and pulled out a fancy business card, “I’m pretty into music as well, and I’d like to help you out. Artist to Artist—I’m Jay by the way,”

                I took the card with his info on it; I was still amazed by this whole situation, “W-wow... Jay Park huh? Thank you so much! I really appreciate this,”

                “No prob,” he smirked, “Well, I don’t want to hold you up on the job so you can hit me up whenever,” he gave a wave and walked out the store. I just stood there awestrucked, some stranger actually LIKED my singing and wants to help me out! I quickly ran to the register to tell Nicole.

“Are you serious?” she cried, “I didn’t even see the guy come in,”

                “Girl, I can’t even believe it myself!” I cried, “And by the looks of this fancy business card and the nice clothes he had on, he seems like he could be a popular guy,”

                Nicole observed the card herself, “Jay Park…Sounds sort of familiar, but I could be thinking of someone else,” she gave the card back to me, “But just be careful Naomi, ‘cause you got some people that like to scam folks and sell them all these dreams,”

                She made a valid point, but I was so excited over the nice complements and the fact that he wanted to help me out. I will be careful though since I don’t know him but I’ll defiantly give him a call. After calming down a little I went back to continue folding and restocking inventory.
